It figures that in the year of the Warriors, the NBA All-Star 3-point contest came down to a pair of Golden State guards.
In a fairly thrilling shooting duel, Klay Thompson slipped by teammate Steph Curry in the final round.
The event’s first round saw Steph lead the way with 23 points. Klay came through with 22. Devin Booker, J.J. Redick and James Harden tied at 20. Booker won a tiebreak shootout to advance to the final three, but he scored only 16 points in the final.
Steph started his final round strongly and ended with a respectable score of 23, but Klay hit all five shots on his all-moneyball final rack to wind up with a resounding 27 points.
The upset kept Steph from his second consecutive 3-point contest title and gave Klay a year’s worth of bragging rights in the Warriors’ locker room.
