The Dallas Police Department released a statement on Saturday regarding Johnny Manziel’s alleged domestic assault against ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley on January 30.

In the statement, police spokesman Maj. Midge Boyle said that the Dallas PD has obtained video surveillance of the incident, and reviewed medical records voluntarily provided by Crowley. (She had said Manziel hit her left ear so hard that it had ruptured her eardrum, resulting in hearing loss.)

Boyle also said that the Dallas PD has not yet spoken with Manziel, and the investigation remains ongoing with no determination yet regarding potential charges being filed.

Here’s the full statement:

On February 5, 2016, Dallas Police Department detectives began investigating a complaint of a domestic violence assault that occurred in Dallas on January 30, 2016, in which Jonathan Manziel was the listed suspect. Up to this point in the investigation, detectives have continued communicating with the complainant, interviewed witnesses, received medical records from the complainant, and obtained video from surveillance cameras. Detectives are continuing with their efforts to fully investigate the facts of this case. As this remains an on-going investigation, no details of the investigation will be released at this time. We would like to finish the investigation as soon as possible, but detectives work around the victim’s and witnesses’ schedules which can sometimes delay the process. As of today, there has been no determination as to what type of charge, if any, will be filed against Mr. Manziel. Updates to this case will be made as information becomes available.

ESPN’s Pat McManamon reports that surveillance video is indeed from Hotel ZaZa in Dallas, where Crowley alleges the assault began. The video also includes footage of Crowley’s encounter with the hotel valet, something she referenced in her affidavit seeking a protection order (which she was granted) earlier this month:

Police did not specify the nature of the video, but the footage is from the Hotel ZaZa in Dallas, which is where Colleen Crowley alleged the assault began, a source familiar with the investigation told ESPN.

Crowley stated in the affidavit that she told the valet she was “scared for my life,” and the valet responded he didn’t know what to do. She stated in the affidavit that Manziel threw her in the passenger seat of his car.

Dallas police have the video of the encounter with the valet along with other surveillance, according to the source.

On Friday, Boyle told The Dallas Morning News that the Dallas PD hopes to conclude the case by next week:

“Hopefully by the end of next week we’ll be done with it,” Maj. Midge Boyle, who heads the domestic violence unit, told The Dallas Morning News Friday. She said investigators expect to determine by then whether they will charge Manziel, and if so, with what crime.

However, the Dallas PD said on Saturday that the case could go to a grand jury:

Dallas police have said they hope to wrap up their investigation next week, but said Saturday they’re not sure whether they would immediately arrest the former Texas A&M star or whether they would give the case to a grand jury.
