Coaches often get caught on camera doing some pretty weird and embarrassing things, but German soccer coach Joachim Low is likely among the elite when it comes to getting caught on camera at the worst possible times.

Recently, during the 2016 UEFA European Championship, Low was caught with his hand in his pants (literally) and taking a sniff of said hand afterwards. What exactly inspired to do this during one of the most-watched sporting events in all of soccer (where there are bound to be numerous cameras around), no one really knows.

But, for Low, this kind of behavior is not uncommon for those familiar with the German coach. He is known by many soccer faithful as a notorious nose picker, and there are many instances of the 2014 World Cup winning coach digging for gold during games.

At this point, maybe Low is doing it for some good luck. Germany is one of the strongest international soccer teams in Europe, so maybe there’s a little bit of magic that he finds in these behaviors to give his squad a little luck. That, or he has some really embarrassing itches he just has to get to. Either way, it makes for some pretty awkward handshakes for opposing coaches at the end of games.
