College basketball coach Bob Huggins faces a DUI charge after police arrested him on Friday night.
The West Virginia men’s basketball coach was arrested in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Per MetroNews, “According to information from Pittsburgh police, Huggins was driving a black SUV at around 8:30 p.m. on Merchant Street off of Ridge Avenue when officers observed the vehicle in the middle of the road blocking traffic. Police said the driver’s side door was open, and the vehicle had a flat and shredded tire.”
This DUI charge comes on the heels of another disgraceful incident Huggins found himself in. Last month, the former Cincinnati Bearcats coach joined WLW 700 for a radio hit in Cincinnati. During the segment, Huggins directed a homophobic slur toward Xavier Musketeer fans.
Huggins referred to Xavier fans as “Catholic ****,” and afterward, West Virginia suspended him for three regular season games and sent him to sensitivity training.
West Virginia released a statement on the incident. Via MetroNews, the statement read, “West Virginia University is aware of an incident last night involving Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins, for which he was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in the City of Pittsburgh. We are gathering more information and will take appropriate action once the review is complete.”
If he wasn’t in hot water before, Huggins might have gotten into even more now.
