As the Ohio State Buckeyes continue their improbable run through the Big Ten tournament with hopes of securing the an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the tournament’s championship, it looks like they’ll be playing the remainder of the games without their top scorer as Brice Sensabaugh has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Brice Sensabaugh missed Ohio State’s Big Ten tournament quarterfinal victory over the Michigan State Spartans after suffering an injury late in the team’s win over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday. That injury appears to be significant as Ohio State announced on Saturday morning that Sensabaugh “will not play anymore this season” as he continues to be evaluated.

“Brice has had an outstanding freshman season and played very well down the stretch,” Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann said in a release according to Griffin Strom. “I know how badly he wanted to play, and we are disappointed for him. We are proud of him and his continued development as a player and I know he’s looking forward to supporting his teammates again today.”

Sensabaugh leads Ohio State in scoring with 16.3 points per game, so this is obviously some horrible news for the Buckeyes with their season on the line, and the college basketball world had plenty to say about it.

Not only is this big news for the Buckeyes, but it’s also big in the NBA Draft world as Sensabaugh is expected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft should he decide to leave Ohio State after just one season.
