Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has brought three of his five children along with him in his first year with the program in Boulder. But on Tuesday, his daughter, Shelomi Sanders opted to leave her family in hopes of additional opportunities.

Shelomi Sanders, a freshman guard for Colorado’s women’s basketball team, opted to follow her father to the program last offseason after originally joining him at Jackson State.

Unfortunately, the move wasn’t one that was all the successful for her. Sanders played in just five games this past season, averaging just 1.8 minutes per game in those few opportunities she did get.

On Tuesday, she took to social media to share that she will be entering the transfer portal in hopes of finding more opportunities with her three remaining years of eligibility.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank my creator for allowing me to have this platform with amazing experiences,” Sanders wrote Tuesday on Twitter/X. “I want to thank my coaches and the university for accepting me to be a part of the family, it has been a blessing accomplishing as much as we did. I would like to thank my family and my support system for always uplifting and pouring into me on and off the court as a student athlete.

“My time at Colorado has been a treat with amazing experiences along the way. With intentional consideration and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”

At the end of the day, the move makes sense for Sanders considering her lack of playing time last season, even if she will no longer be in the same area as her father and her two brothers Shilo and Shedeur.
