The 2023 Men’s NCAA Tournament attracts attention from all corners of American life, and that includes major politicians.
Former Vice President of the United States Mike Pence is among those excited to take in the college basketball action.
Pence was shown sitting in the crowd, presumably at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, taking in Saturday’s March Madness action.

Pence was on hand to watch the Kansas Jayhawks take on the Arkansas Razorbacks and see the Penn State Nittany Lions take on the Texas Longhorns. However, his appearance in Iowa probably has a little something to do with the fact that he’s considering running for President of the United States in the 2024 election and that’s the best state for a Republican politician to be spotted in for the next year or so.
He’s also not the only Vice President in town to take in the March Madness action. Current Vice President Kamala Harris was there to root on her alma mater, the Howard Bison, in the first round. They lost to Kansas and Harris ended up delivering a very awkward post-game speech to the team.
Pence’s appearance at the tourney garnered some very interesting reactions from the college basketball world, especially over his seemingly generic NCAA hat.
They’re already asking him to overturn Duke’s loss, https://t.co/SiHmDCX6kC

this loser is going to try and derail the vibes of penn state basketball on his own but this will not happen https://t.co/xG1kDkKo4g

While many of you are likely yelling "GO JAYHAWKS" or "GO RAZORBACKS!" Mike Pence is yelling "GO BASKETBALL and the referees!" https://t.co/EtZcDG34gB
