Ohio State basketball officially learned of the departure of one of their biggest stars on Saturday.
Buckeyes star Brice Sensabaugh declared for the 2023 NBA Draft. A member of the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and an All-Big Ten Third Team selection, Sensabaugh leaves Columbus after just one season.
Sensabaugh announced his departure from Ohio State in a lengthy post on Twitter.

“After steady thought and consideration, I am excited to announce I have decided to enter my name into the 2023 NBA Draft with the option to return to OSU,” he wrote.
So there is a positive for Ohio State that Sensabaugh could return to school. That will, of course, hinge on the NBA draft process for him. Will he grade well? Will evaluators like his game? There are always loads of factors.
In 33 games played, Sensabaugh averaged 16.3 points per game on a 48.0 percent mark from the floor. He also averaged 5.4 rebounds per game, shot over 40 percent from 3, and recorded a free throw percentage of 83 percent.
ESPN ranks Brice Sensabaugh 18th overall on their 2023 NBA Draft Big Board. Among small forwards, Sensabaugh trails only Brandon Miller and Cam Whitmore, two of the best prospects in this upcoming class.
His best performance this past season came against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Sensabaugh scored 27 points, shot 4-or-5 from 3, collected five rebounds, and a steal in 26 minutes.
The basketball world reacted to the huge Ohio State news.

Buckeye Nation can’t thank you enough!!!! You were the glue that kept the team together throughout the season. Unfortunately we endured an up & down season, but you were an exceptional player. Can’t wait to see you succeed in the NBA!! #Team124 https://t.co/a5Bcyh4J6y

Potential lottery candidate but would expect a wide range of outcomes if he stays in this year’s draft. https://t.co/HpIr5LhTws
