Since Kirby Smart has become the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, they have been known for playing great defense.

The Bulldogs have been ranked in the top 5 of total defense in the country since Smart arrived. But according to former Georgia quarterback and college football analyst Aaron Murray, the Dawgs offense may be the talk of college football this year.

Murray thinks that the Bulldogs new offense under new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, will be explosive this year.

“There is going to be a chip on Bobo’s shoulder. I know Bobo, he was my OC for five years. He is a competitive son of a gun,” Murray said. “He wants to be the best — he is one of the best. There are a lot of people doubting whether he should have gotten the job with big shoes to fill with [Todd] Monken leaving and I think he’s eating that up.”

“He knows he has some talent that he hasn’t had in a long time to work with, and he wants to go out there and prove everyone why he is a successful coordinator and why he got this job. That’s why I think there will be no limits for this offense.” he said.

Bobo has been the offensive coordinator at several SEC schools over the years including Georgia for seven years, so this is a return home for him.

The Bulldogs’ offense was one of the tops in the country last year averaging about 40 points a game.

But Murray expects them to put more emphasis on getting the ball more down the field through the passing game.

“I expect this offense to really start to push the ball vertically down the field. You saw in the spring game, it’s the same offense they ran last year essentially at the core,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if Murray’s prediction will be right this upcoming season.
