The Alabama Crimson Tide is known to have some of the most physical defensive players in all of college football. But that didn’t seem to phase Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton one bit in their matchup on Saturday, trucking an Alabama defender in a play worthy of any highlight reel.

Milton is not like your average college starting quarterback, standing at 6’5” and 235 pounds. He can inflict some serious punishment on defenders trying to tackle him, and he did just that in his first drive of the game on Saturday.

Tennessee faced a 3rd-and-6 on their first drive of the game. Milton attempted to scramble for the first down, where he was met by Malachi Moore right at the line to gain.

Milton proceeded to lay a massive hit on Moore, trucking him and falling forward for the first down.

Milton has received plenty of praise this year for his unbelievable arm talent. But his pure strength is obviously a huge weapon in his game as well.

Fans took notice of the eye-popping play and praised Milton for his elite physicality.

Credit to Malachi Moore for actually getting Milton down after taking such a vicious hit. That being said, he may have been smarter to make a business decision and try to dive at his legs instead of taking the full-body contact.

Milton went on to show off his passing ability later on in the drive, dropping a dime directly into the hands of Tennessee wide receiver Squirrel White.

Milton is still a pretty raw athlete for the quarterback position, but this first drive against Alabama clearly shows his potential in all facets of the game to be a top quarterback in all of college football.
