Notre Dame catch

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish haven’t exactly been known for having a high-powered passing attack so far this season, but the team certainly got a lot of attention for one particular passing play on Saturday thanks to an absolutely insane catch from Notre Dame wide receiver Braden Lenzy.

During the first quarter of Notre Dame’s matchup against the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday afternoon, Fighting Irish quarterback Drew Pyne scrambled out of the pocket and threw a pass deep toward the end zone. The pass hung up in the air a little bit, allowing the Navy defender to make a play on the football. However, that didn’t stop Lenzy from making a crazy circus catch.

Despite the coverage from the Navy defensive back, Lenzy reached across the defender’s body and made an absolutely insane reacharound catch for the touchdown.

It was an absolutely incredible play and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter, praising Lenzy’s athleticism and concentration.

The catch gave Notre Dame an early 14-0 lead over the Navy Midshipmen. But even aside from the score, it will undoubtedly go down as one of the best catches in college football this season – if not the best overall.
