The BYU Cougars found themselves on the wrong end of a hilarious self-inflicted error.

As it’s been told, BYU football is joining the Big XII in 2023. The previously independent Cougars celebrated their move with a nifty graphic of what their field will look like now. All told, the field’s aesthetic is charming. But there’s just one problem:

The Big XII logos were placed 10 yards before where they usually are. The logos will be spotted on the 25-yard-line, but in the graphic, they’re seen sitting on the 15.

BYU went full “our bad” after someone pointed out the mistake.

But… unfortunately for the Cougars, not everyone was willing to let them down easy.

One user even suggested that something “deeper” was at play…

But the jokes and the bagging continued, as users gave BYU a hard time.

It’s a tough break, but kudos to BYU for keeping the tweet up even days after it was made. Sometimes, not everyone is always willing to be the butt of jokes. Especially online, where jokes and humiliation can last for eons. Obviously, though, the BYU Football Twitter team didn’t take themselves too seriously. They owned up to the mistake, and the jokes just kept flying in, one after another.

Just another day on Twitter, even through all of its recent uprise in nonsense.
