While Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes have had an absolutely torrid start to the 2023 college football season, they were brought back down to earth on Saturday by the Oregon Ducks.
Dan Lanning’s Ducks absolutely torched the Buffs, taking a 35-0 lead into halftime and eventually defeating Colorado 42-6.
It was a pretty epic beatdown and it certainly reminded a lot of college football fans of a certain dubious high school football program.
Colorado looked so overmatched at times against the high-powered Oregon offense, led by Bo Nix, as well as the stifling defense that kept quarterback Shedeaur Sanders on the run, that many thought they were watching the infamous game between Bishop Sycamore and IMG Academy, which the latter won 58-0.
“Oregon vs. Colorado is gonna be IMG vs. Bishop Sycamore,” one fan said before the game, not knowing how prescient they were.

Of course, there’s a big difference between a fake school masquerading as a high school football program and Colorado’s season so far. But man, Saturday was a rough one for Deion Sanders’ squad.
