Emotions are as high as they have ever been as the Colorado Buffaloes take on the Colorado State Rams on Saturday, and things boiled over before the game even started.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and some Colorado State players started talking smack to one another during warmups. Then, a Colorado State player swatted a pass from Sanders to wide receiver Travis Hunter out of the air. That led to players from both teams taking things to the next level as they swarmed the center of the field to get at one another.

Apparently a CSU player swatted a pass intended for Travis Hunter out of the air.

It doesn’t appear that things got physical but the intensity between the two programs is officially through the roof.
This comes after a week in which Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell made comments about how he doesn’t think it’s appropriate to speak with adults while “wearing sunglasses and a hat,” a clear shot at Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, who then jawed back.
I love how Colorado-Colorado State — with a bunch of coaches and players who have never played each other — has suddenly turned into the most bitter rivalry in college football. pic.twitter.com/kBUJCHJuH5

After a 1-11 season last year, the Buffaloes are back in a big way so far this season with a 2-0 record and wins over TCU and Nebraska. They’re also 23.5-point favorites over the Rams, who are 0-1 on the year.
It’s probably going to get pretty ugly tonight and that’s to say nothing of what Deion and Shedeur Sanders will have to say after the game.
