Deion Sanders has been a revelation to college football, as the Colorado Buffaloes head coach has turned around a 1-11 program in a rather unorthodox way. He brought Travis Hunter and his sons, Shadeur and Shilo, with him from Jackson State, but he also dipped into the transfer portal and brought in over 80 new players.

While his team was humbled by Oregon, losing 42-6 and doing so pretty handily, it’s hard to argue with the job that Sanders has done. For better or worse, he’s brought the national spotlight out to Boulder and the attention that comes with it. That’s led to Colorado being a bit similar to Southern Cal of the early 2000s, in which they’ve become a hot talking point for celebrities and athletes alike.

That attention has led to a lot of people reaching out to Sanders. The Colorado head coach recently revealed that Andy Reid is among those who will check up on him following a game. The Super Bowl-winning head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, who now has the fourth-most wins in NFL history, has crossed paths with Sanders before and now they keep in touch.

“One person that you wouldn’t think that we correspond with, that’s really good is Andy Reid,” Sanders said, via On3. “I mean, we just have this this love. I respect the heck out of him; you gotta know that. But, you know, just coming in after practice and you look on there and it’s a text message from Andy Reed. And I’m like, ‘Wow! What’s up, coach. Coach, can you help me with this running game?’”

This revelation just goes to show Sanders’ impact on college football and how the coaching fraternity can be such a resource for college coaches and NFL coaches alike.
