Following the Colorado Buffaloes most recent loss to Washington State, head coach Deion Sanders has had to address a little frustration within his program.

After beginning the season with a 3-0 record, Colorado has since lost seven of its last eight games, leading him to have to some obvious frustration and the need to refocus his team a little bit this week.

“First of all, you get all the bull junk out,” Sanders said. “So you put a chair up and you sit in front of everybody on the team and say, ‘Alright, let’s get it out. There’s some bull junk that’s been said on social media. Let’s confront it.’ I’m not going to put it like I ain’t hear it. I was asleep, passed out, but everybody texted me and told me about it. So who said what and why? And we got it out.”

Some of that “bull junk” that Sanders was likely referring to was a post from running back Kavosiey Smoke, who posted the following message on Twitter after the loss to Washington State: “Simple fact bru we could’ve went undefeated this year. Too much selfish ball going on man can’t win like that. Gotta play and win as a team but if u go the other route u get results like this.”

Sanders doesn’t necessarily even have a problem with what the Smoke said, calling him “one of my favorite players on the team.” He just wishes that Colorado could have addressed the issues as a team instead of on social media.

“I agree,” Sanders said. “First of all, I said he’s one of my favorite players on the team and I feel like we let him down, because he came here a heralded running back and one of the best in the game, and I think he’s a pro. … Had we been able to accommodate his needs.

He is one of my favorites, and he just told the truth. He said what he felt. I don’t mind when people say what they feel and feel what they say. I have no problem with that.”
