With college football’s season in the rearview mirror, we now officially know the 2023-24 bowl games.

One of the season’s most intriguing matchups features the No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes squaring off with the No. 9 Missouri Tigers on December 29 in the Cotton Bowl.

It’s Missouri’s first trip to the Cotton Bowl since 2014 and Ohio State’s first since 2017.

Shortly after learning the news, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz did an interview with ESPN where he discussed his team’s season and the game before ending with a hilarious joke.

“Hey guys,” Drinkwitz said near the end of the interview, “I got a quick phone call, Connor Stalions is beepin’ in right here, so I gotta go, but as soon as we get done, I look forward to competing against Ryan Day and we’ll go from there,” he continued while laughing.

Stalions, of course, is the former Michigan Wolverines analyst who has been at the center of the sign-stealing allegations around the program. He resigned on November 3 after being suspended for the previous three weeks.

Michigan didn’t lose a step after the allegations or subsequent investigation, capping off a perfect 13-0 regular season including a third consecutive win over Ohio State despite head coach Jim Harbaugh serving the final game a conference-issued three-game suspension.

Harbaugh returned from the suspension Saturday night and became the first coach in the history of the Big Ten to win three straight outright championships.

Missouri was one of the biggest surprises in the country this season, going 10-2 in the regular season with their only losses coming to the LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs
