While Florida State fans are still in their feelings about their team not making the College Football Playoff and rightfully so, their outrage is pointed at the wrong people.

FSU fans and supporters are pointing all their anger towards the Alabama Crimson Tide because the Tide took the last slot, but it’s not Alabama’s fault. Alabama did what they were supposed to do, beating Georgia in the SEC Championship.

The Crimson Tide had the biggest win of the year and the committee couldn’t and wouldn’t ignore it, but they are getting slammed for some reason.

FSU was never getting in first of all. Jordan Travis’s injury pretty much ended their chances of getting in. Even if Georgia had beaten Alabama, Texas was getting in over FSU too at the four-slot.

Meanwhile, Texas is not getting killed by the national media like Alabama is.

There are actually two villains in this situation. First is the Michigan Wolverines. While FSU fans are harassing Nick Saban, Michigan has quietly got into this playoff without any fanfare like a thief in the night, which they are.

They have sneaked into this playoff without anyone mentioning how their coach was suspended half of the season for cheating. Where is the outage from Booger McFarland, Tim Brando, or Danny Kanell?

They have all the smoke for Alabama but not for Michigan or Texas for that matter. If we are being truthful about this, either the Georgia Bulldogs or FSU should have taken the last slot if it wasn’t for Michigan, but no one is ready to have that discussion yet.

The other villain in this is the ACC. The ACC had five members on that committee, and it is becoming quite apparent that the conference did little to nothing to fight for the Seminoles.

Maybe it’s because the Noles, along with the Clemson Tigers, are trying to get out of the ACC and ironically likely attempting to get to the SEC. Say what you want to say about the SEC, but their members would have fought for each other to get into the playoff.

Also, let’s not forget when the ACC, the PAC 12, and Big Ten formed The Alliance, they voted against a 12-team playoff starting this year. Guess who made it in the playoffs this year? A Pac-12 and Big Ten team.

So maybe, just maybe, Florida State fans should save their venom and their hate mail for the ACC and Michigan and not Alabama.
