Former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Marquis Maze tweeted on Saturday that he believes he’s suffering from CTE.
Maze tweeted, “I’m 1000% sure I suffer from CTE. Just pray I can control this sh*t & never let it control me.”

Maze played for the Crimson Tide from 2007-2011 under head coach Nick Saban.
He was also in training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012, before joining the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League in 2014.
Many fans were upset and stunned by the news, but showed Maze support.
Prayers up for you, Marquis. You have brought joy to so many, never forget that. The boys in this pic are 21 now…we still talk about what a special moment that was. I hope you find the peace and help you deserve. 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/2SL3e862Cy

One notable person who saw Maze’s tweet was Dr. Chris Nowinski, who tweeted, “Marquis, please reach out so the @ConcussionLF can connect you with the best doctors to manage your symptoms. You can control it.”

Nowinski made HUGE headlines a few weeks ago when another former Alabama player, Tua Tagovailoa was carted off the field due to a concussion.
Nowinski was one of the first experts to call out the NFL for their concussion protocol.
“If Tua takes the field tonight, it’s a massive step back for #concussion care in the NFL. If he has a 2nd concussion that destroys his season or career, everyone involved will be sued & should lose their jobs, coaches included. We all saw it, even they must know this isn’t right.”

Hopefully, Maze will take the doctor’s advice and see about himself before his condition becomes worse.
