SEC Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

If you have been watching the SEC on CBS for many years, you know that color commentator Gary Danielson is not a fan favorite among many SEC fans.

Danielson often gets slammed for his perceived terrible takes and has been called a homer in a lot of games, although he never played in the SEC.

He didn’t help himself with comments Saturday comparing Texas A&M tight end Jake Johnson to Georgia Bulldogs All-American tight end Brock Bowers during the Alabama-Texas A&M game.

The comments did not sit very well with fans who thought Danielson was being a bit biased and Alabama and Aggies alike let their feelings be known.

Many fans of both schools are glad they don’t have to listen to Danielson anymore after this year. CBS and Danielson will be doing Big Ten games next year, but for a lot of fans, 2024 can come soon enough.

Next year, most of the SEC games will be televised either on ESPN or ABC. CBS has been televising SEC games for years and, despite the fans’ protest, Danielson became the voice of the SEC for many years. Love him or hate him, as a lot of SEC fans do, it will be weird not hearing his call on an SEC broadcast next year.
