The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors faced off against the UNLV Rebels on Saturday, and the college football world took notice of one of the most imaginative trick plays of the season that worked to perfection for a long touchdown.

Hawaii pulled off the excellent trick play at the beginning of the third quarter when Hawaii head coach Timmy Chang made the bold call to try and double reverse flea flicker.

The play included Hawaii quarterback Brayden Schager handing the ball off to the running back. He then pitched it to a receiver in motion behind him. And the receiver finally threw it back to Schrager, who launched the ball downfield for a 51-yard passing touchdown to a wide-open Steven McBride in the endzone.

You can’t draw up a trick play much better than that, and fans praised Hawaii for the unique play call on social media.

Hawaii’s offense had been extremely ineffective to that point in the game, so it was undoubtedly a much-needed time to try a trick play. This play put Hawaii within ten points, making it a 20-10 UNLV lead.

Unfortunately, the play would be the highlight of the game for Hawaii in an otherwise ugly performance for them. UNLV would go on to win dominantly, taking a 44-20 victory on Saturday night.

With this loss, Hawaii drops to 2-4 on the year, but at least they were able to excite their fans with that ridiculous trick play.
