It’s been an offseason to remember for Iowa offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor.
After making the College Football Playoff and falling to the Michigan Wolverines in the Rose Bowl, the 2023 SEC All-Freshman selection announced he would enter the transfer portal on the heels of Nick Saban’s retirement.
A week later, Proctor, a native of Des Moines, committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Now, after just two months at Iowa, Proctor is reportedly set to re-enter the transfer portal, with the prevailing thought being that he’ll be heading back to Alabama to play for Kalen DeBoer.
The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman reported the news Tuesday evening.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz issued a brief statement, saying, “It is unfortunate that Kadyn has informed us of his intentions to leave our program today. We wish him well in the future.”
This is now the second time Proctor has de-committed from Iowa, as he originally committed to the school as a high school senior in 2022 but flipped to Alabama shortly before signing day.
Upon committing to Iowa the second time a couple of months ago, Proctor said, “This is ultimately where I wanted to be. It’s the first place I thought of when I entered the transfer portal. So I had my mind made up when I entered the transfer portal.”
Proctor cannot officially re-enter the transfer portal until April 15 and will be immediately eligible to play for Alabama upon his return.
