It’s no secret to anyone who’s watched the Iowa Hawkeyes this season that the team has an absolutely elite defense that ranks among the nation’s best combined with one of the worst offenses in the country. In fact, there were times this season when it seemed more likely that Iowa would score a touchdown on defense than on offense. And one hilarious stat highlights that.

As The Athletic pointed out after Iowa’s Music City Bowl win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, Iowa star defensive back Cooper DeJean actually finished the season with more touchdowns than all of Iowa’s wide receivers combined.

DeJean added his third touchdown of the season during Saturday’s win over Kentucky to make this stat even more insane.

As wild as this stat may be, it shouldn’t be that surprising to those who witnessed just how horrific this Hawkeye offense has been. It ranks at the bottom of the Big Ten in almost every statistical category.

The offense has been so bad that even Iowa fans were even hilariously trolling offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz with a fantastic prank that went viral earlier in the season. It’s safe to say that they aren’t happy with the offense has played this season.
