Michigan’s resilience helped seal the deal after a touchdown in the final minutes of Monday’s win during the Rose Bowl over Alabama.

Following the, 27-20, overtime win, it didn’t take long for the questions to start pouring in on a return to the NFL for head coach Jim Harbaugh.

He was trying to live in the moment, however.

“My future consists of a happy flight back to Ann Arbor, Michigan,” Harbaugh said, via Andrew Birkle of the Detroit Free Press. “Can’t wait.”

Harbaugh continues to stay silent on a possible NFL reunion, but was happy to start the new year with a win on the biggest stage of college football.

“Glorious. It was right where we wanted to be,” Harbaugh told reporters after the game. “It’s everything that we worked for, everything that we prepared for, everything we hoped for, everything we trained and strained for.

The team was just not going to be denied. JJ [McCarthy] said it when he walked off this same podium last year in the semifinal game. He said, we’re going to be back. What he told me was not only are we going to be back, we’re going to win. And there he did.

“And in overtime against Alabama, I think the last quarterback to win in overtime against Alabama was none other than Tom Brady.”

According to Pro Football Talk, Harbaugh has been linked to Los Angeles Chargers and could be pursued by the Las Vegas Raiders as well. A win like this obviously sets him up to be on the radar of some of these openings on a possible NFL reunion.

For now, however, he just wants to soak in the victory.
