Michigan Michigan players celebrate on the field after their defeat of Ohio State at Ohio Stadium, Saturday Nov. 26, 2022. 2022-11-26-michigan celebration

On Tuesday afternoon, the college football world was hit with quite a shock when four-star running back Jordan Marshall – one of the top players in the state of Ohio and a top recruiting target for the Ohio State Buckeyes – chose to commit to the Michigan Wolverines.

It was a big loss for the Ohio State Buckeyes, marking the first time the rival Michigan Wolverines had beaten them in a recruiting battle in nearly a decade. And to make matters even worse, Jordan Marshall revealed that his father was a “big” Ohio State fan. But after his commitment, that will no longer be the case.

“It’s going to be crazy,” Marshall told On3 of his decision to commit to Michigan instead of Ohio State. “Some of my friends are big OState fans, so is my papa. But he is going to start rooting for Michigan. I’m excited to play those guys. Just know after Blake [Corum] and Donovan [Edwards] leave, just know that we are coming back to run that ball !”

This big recruiting win comes after the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes for the second straight time last November, so it seems that this rivalry could be turning back in Michigan’s favor.
