The Georgia Bulldogs have been without superstar tight end Brock Bowers ever since he suffered an ankle injury during the team’s win over Vanderbilt earlier in the season. And it sounds like he’s making progress toward his eventual return.

During his press conference on Monday, Kirby Smart gave a little bit of an update on the star tight end’s status, revealing that he “did a good workout” last week and that the team is trying to get him healthy and back on the field “as fast as we can.”

“He’s been great. He’s done everything we ask,” Smart said according to On3. “He ran on Friday, did a good workout. He had Saturday off, obviously. He continues to work and we’re going to do everything we can to get him back as fast as we can.”

Following the injury, Bowers underwent tight-rope surgery to correct the injured ankle and has remained out ever since. Smart has not given a specific timetable for Bowers’ potential return to the lineup but the Bulldogs seem confident that they will get their top playmaker back on the field as they attempt to pursue their third consecutive College Football Playoff national title.

We’ll have to see when Bowers is able to return and how he performs once he’s back.
