Lane Kiffin and his Ole Miss Rebels are set to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. But as the Rebels prepared for their upcoming game against the Crimson Tide, it seemed that Kiffin and his staff made quite a wild discovery that he shared with the world over the weekend.

During a press conference this week, Lane Kiffin had an absolutely shocking claim about Alabama, suggesting that Nick Saban and Alabama have quietly made a massive change at defensive coordinator, replacing defensive coordinator Kevin Steele with cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson to run the defense.

“We’ve been against Kevin a number of times. Worked with him at Alabama and against him at Auburn and LSU. There seems like there’s been a change there,” Kiffin said, according to Ole Miss beat writer Ben Garrett of 247 Sports. “I don’t know what happened after the Texas game, but our guys watching the TV copy and schematically in this last game, certainly seems like T-Rob’s now calling the defense. We played him before at South Carolina, so we’re preparing accordingly for him calling the defense. He’s done a good job, too, and they’ve got really good players.”

It’s certainly a wild thing to claim in a public forum the way Kiffin did. We’ll have to see what Saban says about it later in the week.
