During his press conference at SEC Media Days last month, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin had some very blunt comments on the transfer portal and NIL, saying that college football has “legalized cheating.” He took some criticism for his words, but he doesn’t sound too worried about it.

During a recent appearance on Marty & McGee, Lane Kiffin was asked how he feels about the criticism he’s taken for his harsh words on NIL and the transfer portal. And from the sound of it, he’s pretty unbothered.

“I mean I’m OK. It is what it is. People are going to, when you sit up here and talk for a while, they’re going to take little parts of it and cut down the paragraph or the sentence and then it plays different than you’re saying,” Kiffin said according to On3.

“To be clear, like I mentioned just earlier, it’s a really bad system, like I said. I didn’t say all of college football is broke. But I’m talking specifically about two things: portal and NIL and them coming together at the same time together basically a couple years ago and it not being thought out of the issues that come around that.”

If there’s one thing you can continue to expect from Kiffin, it’s that he’ll always be speaking his mind.
