The Notre Dame Fighting Irish suffered a brutal loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes over the weekend on the final play of the game. And star quarterback Sam Hartman was feeling the hurt after the game.

During his postgame press conference, Sam Hartman made it clear that all the team can do now is move on and grow from the loss, setting their sights on next week’s game against the Duke Blue Devils.

“It’s a long season,” Hartman said according to On3. “That hurts. Close game, big crowd. It’s tough but the season goes on. The bond grows. You win, you learn. That’ll show up in the loss column for us, and we know that, but it’s about next week, about bouncing back, and it’s all we can do.”

But as for the positives they could take away from the defeat, Hartman didn’t have any right after the loss, saying the feeling in the locker room was “pretty dark.”

“I’m sure later in the week we can find something, but right now it’s pretty low, pretty dark,” Hartman said. “But, that’s college football. It’s life. Gotta bounce back. That’s what we’ll do. It’s Notre Dame.”

We’ll have to see how the team bounces back next week.
