Ohio State Members of the Ohio State Marching Band form “Script Ohio” before Saturday’s NCAA Division I football game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks on September 11, 2021, at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Oh.

On Thursday, the Ohio State Buckeyes learned their future schedules for the 2024-28 seasons. The Big Ten revealed the future conference schedules, which will feature new faces. Next year, the Big Ten will welcome Oregon, Southern Cal, UCLA, and Washington aboard.

“The future is set,” the Buckeyes’ football account proclaimed on X, formerly known as Twitter. They then provided a handy graphic featuring the Buckeyes’ future Big Ten opponents.

In 2024, Ohio State won’t get too acclimated to their new conference mates. They’ll only play just one. OSU will travel to Autzen to face the Oregon Ducks. Funny enough, Ohio State was supposed to do that in 2020. But the COVID-shortened season disrupted things and removed nonconference play from the equation. But other than that, 2024 won’t be that interesting for OSU.

It’s in future years, perhaps, that things get fun. In 2025, the Buckeyes welcome UCLA to the Horseshoe and travel to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies. Then, in 2026, Oregon will return to Columbus, and the Buckeyes will also travel to Los Angeles. Ohio State will battle USC in a matchup of college football heavyweights there. SC and OSU will do it again the following season, this time in Columbus.

It’s safe to say that Ohio State will catch a ‘breather’ of sorts before things change in 2025. The Big Ten and SEC are set for major shakeups in realignment, and we’re just now seeing what it’ll look like.

The college football world reacted to the Ohio State news.
