Ohio State Michigan Nov 25, 2023; Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA; Michigan Wolverines offensive lineman Drake Nugent (60) prepares to snap the ball during the NCAA football game against the Michigan Wolverines at Michigan Stadium. Ohio State lost 30-24.

For the third straight season, the Ohio State Buckeyes were unable to beat the Michigan Wolverines, falling 30-24 in the rivalry showdown. And after the game, head coach Ryan Day made it clear just how disappointed he and his team are with the loss.

During his postgame press conference, Ryan Day had a blunt response to how he feels after losing this game for the third time in a row.

“Just sick. The fact that we came up short in this game — the whole year for it and we came up short,” Day said postgame according to On3.

And that feeling seems to permeate throughout the locker room.

“I try to keep what we talk about in the locker room to ourselves. But we’re all disappointed,” Day continued. “We know what this game means to so many people. And to come up short is certainly crushing. Not only just because you invest your whole year into it, but we know at Ohio State what this game means. There’s a locker room in there that’s devastated. It wasn’t because of a lack of effort.

“But again, we didn’t win the rushing yards, we didn’t win the turnover battle. So, you’re not going to win a game.”

Ohio State will now have to wait another year for another shot at beating Michigan.
