Ohio State Archie Griffin

Ohio State Buckeyes legend Archie Griffin went viral on Saturday afternoon for an awesome reason.

Griffin participated in the Buckeyes’ annual Spring Game at the Horseshoe in Columbus. The Ohio Stadium faithful watched on as Griffin, the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner in history, rumbled into the end zone one more time!

“Archie Griffin, college football’s only two-time Heisman Trophy winner, scores a touchdown in Ohio State’s spring game. What a moment,” Ohio State blog Eleven Warriors tweeted. The account posted a video of Griffin’s touchdown run.

Archie lined up for the Scarlet side and received the handoff and ran right. Griffin hit the outside and ran down the sideline before cruising into the end zone. He received high-fives from players on both the Scarlet and Gray side before doing the famed Heisman pose.

The video of the highlight reel run by Griffin went viral on Saturday and sparked a significant interest.

As you might expect, the CFB world had lots to say about the video as well.

“Eligibility rules are getting out of control,” joked the Off Tackle Empire blog.

“Maybe we can finally beat Michigan with this new recruit,” an Ohio State fan joked. Michigan has defeated Ohio State football two years in a row.

Thanks to some terrific camerawork, Eleven Warriors also provided another look at the touchdown.

A great moment indeed at the Horseshoe on Saturday.
