The Oregon Ducks fell to the Washington Huskies on Saturday afternoon following a couple of controversial decisions from Oregon head coach Dan Lanning. And as a result of those decisions, Lanning is taking full blame for the loss.

Oregon had multiple failed fourth-down conversions during the game when they could have kicked field goals or pinned Washington deep with a punt. And Dan Lanning takes full ownership of the decisions to go for it on fourth down in those situations.

“Both our coordinators prepared our guys to executed well. I think this game is 100% on me,” Lanning said according to On3. “I don’t think you guys got to look anywhere else besides me. I think everyone of us can look at the decisions that were made today.

“If you could make some of those decisions different — if you kicked the field goal before the half, if you kicked the field goal somewhere else — that game could’ve been a different result. You never know how the rest of the game is going to play out, so you make those decisions based on the information that you have.”

It’s safe to say that Lanning will be regretting some of those decisions for a long time.
