Last year, Washington Huskies superstar wide receiver Rome Odunze could have jumped to the NFL Draft after last season, but he chose to return for another season of college football. And this week, he explained exactly why.

During a recent press conference, Rome Odunze revealed that Washington’s run to the College Football Playoff national championship game is precisely the reason why he decided to return for another season with the team this year.

“I think this right here, you know? This moment.” Odunze said according to On3. “Having all my teammates here, having this coaching staff, and the University of Washington to be on this level, this light, which I think it belongs to be and I think I wanted to be part of that when I first came there.

“When I first committed, I said that this was one of my top goals and now it’s coming to fruition, so I think for these moments right here, that’s why we did it.”

We’ll have to see if Odunze and the Huskies can add a storybook ending to Odunze’s return to the game with a win over the Michigan Wolverines in Monday night’s College Football Playoff national title game.
