The Ohio State Buckeyes are facing an absolutely massive test this weekend when they play host to the Penn State Nittany Lions in a top-10 matchup with major College Football Playoff implications. And it sounds like Ohio State head coach Ryan Day understands the high stakes.
During his press conference this week, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day made it clear that this is a high-pressure matchup where “the consequences are higher.”
“It’s just, when you’re in games like this, we know it can come down to one play. So everything is amped up,” Day said according to On3. “The consequences are higher, the stakes are higher. That’s the way you want it.”
The Buckeyes are no stranger to this feeling, however. They’ve already played a high-stakes game like this earlier in the season when they travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a top-10 matchup.
“We’ve already been in one of these games this year. It’s just a reminder when you get in these types of games,” said Day.
We’ll have to see whether or not that game against Notre Dame leaves the Buckeyes more prepared for this week’s top-10 showdown with the Nittany Lions.
