Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has not necessarily had the best luck in the sporting world in recent months as he went viral for all the wrong reasons in the fall due to the Houston Astros’ horrible record with him in attendance for their games. But that doesn’t seem to be keeping him away from attending key sporting events – and potentially cursing them into losing.
This week, that Ted Cruz curse struck again as the senator was seen in attendance at Monday night’s game between the Washington Huskies and the Texas Longhorns, decked out in full burnt orange in support of the Longhorns. But as was the case with the Astros previously, the Longhorns were unsuccessful, falling to Washington by a final score of 37-31.
It’s pretty horrible news for Cruz that he is now seen as a curse any time he is at sporting events due to his bad luck, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

If the engines fall off your plane and you see him up in first class make your calls to your loved ones because you and the whole team are going down https://t.co/moINVEK2ls

as in college football, getting enough points to win while in Iowa is not a significant predictor of national success https://t.co/eNG6HQEb0A

Cruz likely hoped that the new year would bring new luck to him in his sports fandom, but that does not appear to be the case for him so far. We’ll have to see if that luck changes.
