The rivalry between Alabama and Tennessee fans took a very ugly turn after the Vols’ victory Saturday night over the Crimson Tide.
Former Alabama running back Kerry Goode who played for the Crimson Tide during the 1980s, was reportedly harassed by Volunteer fans.
To make matters worse, Goode, who is in a wheelchair, suffers from ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Goode relayed the story on his Facebook page, which was seen and picked up by some Alabama beat writers.
Goode said on his page:
“I don’t advocate violence but I had someone threw their drink all over me at the end of the game. I don’t know if it was meant for me or my family because we were sitting in the Tennessee section with Bama gear on. But the tickets were compliments of my son Roman who’s the Tennessee staff. A big “Thank You” to the usher who escorted us out.
I will say this about that … ” I ain’t always been saved!”

Goode’s son Roman is also part of the Tennessee staff and he was there to support not only him but his alma mater. So far, neither school has commented on the incident. Luckily, Goode said despite the incident, it didn’t ruin his time in Knoxville.
