The college football world relentlessly mocked Texas A&M students for their cringy midnight yell tradition in which they called Appalachian State fans “backwater hillbillies” before losing to the Mountaineers on their home turf the following day. A&M attempted to scrub the evidence from the internet, but the internet is always forever.

It remains to be seen how the No. 24 Aggies will fare Saturday when they host the No. 13 Miami Hurricanes at 9 p.m. However, it probably won’t be much better if the film of the newest midnight yell is anything to judge.

“Tell me this isn’t cringey AF,” wrote Twitter user Orange Cane. This is their ‘Hurricane Diss’ tonight. Bruh, this school is so freaking weird.”

In the video, an unnamed yell leader calls the Hurricanes, “worthless,” “good-for-nothing” and “hanky panky” while telling an ostensible joke about a Miami student touring Texas A&M’s campus. That the punch line fell flat in front of a biased, juiced crowd like that tells you all you need to know.

Needless to say, the CFB world was once again relentless in their mockery:

“They been doing this mess for decades, and y’all are just now finding out how weird they are?” joked user Larry Fisherman.

“They need to stop saying ‘hanky panky’,” wrote Barstool Florida.

“A&M is becoming the laughing stock of college football for this alone. Not even going to mention them losing to… nevermind,” tweeted user Anthony Light.

“What in the Hell is this and why do I want to fight that guy?” Miami fan Polk Cane wrote.

“This is supposed to make you want to run through a wall?” asked Seth Williams.

A&M fans should hope its team plays football better than its yell leaders talk trash.
