Before seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady began his dominance in the NFL, he played his college football with the Michigan Wolverines. And this week, he threw it back to his roots a little bit by announcing a business partnership with his alma mater and one of its star players.

This week, Brady Brand – an apparel and clothing brand owned and founded by Tom Brady – announced a line of Michigan Wolverines apparel including hats, sweats, and t-shirts. Not only that, but the company also signed current Michigan star quarterback J.J. McCarthy to an NIL deal to help promote the new line.

During a video promoting the new Brady Brand Michigan line, J.J. McCarthy opened up about what Brady’s “greatness” means to him.

“Defying the odds, he proved it to everyone,” McCarthy said. “Even if you aren’t the biggest, fastest, strongest. You can be one of the best. … What greatness means to me is being the absolute best version of yourself so you can inspire others to be the best version of themself. If everyone strives to be the best they can be, the world is going to be a better place. That’s greatness to me.”

It’s a pretty noteworthy partnership, and people had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.
