“I saw a bunch of smoke, so I just started grabbing bricks and throwing ’em through the window and realized they were trying to get out of the back right window,” Armstrong explained to local media. “So I crawled in there and grabbed her, picked her up and drug her to the window. We got her out. At the end of the day, I was just trying to find her. It was more of just, I’ve known her since I was a little kid.”

Armstrong Jr. currently plays quarterback for the Sioux Falls Storm in the Indoor Football League.

Armstrong Jr. played four seasons in Lincoln, Nebraska, after redshirting his freshman year in 2012. Armstrong was a four-year starter for Nebraska. He started 43 games and appeared in 45 and finished with 625 completions on 1,172 attempts (53.3 percent completion rate) for 8,871 yards, 67 touchdowns and 44 interceptions. He added 423 rushing attempts for 1,819 yards and 23 touchdowns on the ground.

Armstrong switched to wide receiver ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft and went undrafted. A tryout with the Minnesota Vikings at running back saw him waived by the team in June 2017.
