USC Pro Day

When NFL draft prospects and hopefuls participate in a pro day workout with their college team, they’re usually looking for a comfortable environment to show NFL scouts what they can do. But unfortunately for the USC Trojans draft prospects, that’s not exactly what they got during Tuesday’s pro day.

Unfortunately for those wanting to work out at pro day, there was plenty of rain in the area and USC does not have an indoor facility long enough to run a 40-yard dash. So they held the 40-yard dash outside in the rain on a soaking-wet field, instead.

“The field is basically a lake right now and the indoor facility is apparently not long enough for a 40 so they have to do it out here. So I guess just be advised that whatever 40 times you see coming out of this pro day are not exactly in advantageous conditions,” Brett Kollman of The Film Room YouTube channel said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Obviously, these are really unfortunate and potentially dangerous conditions for players to work out and run on, and the football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Many expressed their disbelief that USC does not have an indoor facility capable of hosting a 40-yard dash and were angry that USC was attempting to have players even attempt a 40-yard dash in those rainy conditions.

It’s certainly not an ideal situation for a pro day.
