This year, the PGA Tour has made several changes that will benefit the game’s top players, including increased purses and limited-field no-cut tournaments. They’re massive changes, and PGA Tour star Jordan Spieth acknowledges that the league has LIV Golf to thank for them.

This week, Jordan Spieth was asked about the many positive changes the PGA Tour has made recently and he gave some credit to LIV Golf for starting the whole process.

“I would be lying if I said that we would have gone through this without LIV,” Spieth said according to Outkick. “But at the same time, we haven’t mentioned them in any of our discussions on what we think’s best for the Tour.”

“The whole point is trying to get the best players in the world playing as often as possible on the PGA Tour in the same events,” Spieth later continued. “And I think this scenario is a really good one and I think pretty close to the final of it with just a few kinks to get out.”

It’s very clear that there is fierce competition between the two golf leagues, but sometimes competition brings out the best in both sides. That seems to be what’s happening here.
