Andrew Henderson Sandboarding

Whistle Sports is now taking on something new… sandboarding.

The company has previously put plenty of interesting sports social media content out there, from deals with the NFL, the CFL and The Basketball Tournament to partnerships with trick-shot artists like Dude Perfect, but sandboarding is a new move for them. Yes, it’s pretty much what it sounds like. What if you took concepts and materials from snowboarding, but did them on sand dunes instead? That’s what Whistle Sports recently tried, with freestyle soccer star Andrew Henderson (who’s worked with Whistle Sports before on a variety of projects) strapping on the board:

The friction from the sand here makes it seem unlikely that anyone can pull off the massive tricks we’re used to from snowboarding, but hey, props to Henderson for giving this a shot. At the very least, sandboarding might be an interesting alternative for countries that don’t get much snow. It looks like this is part of a larger ongoing initiative for Whistle Sports and Henderson, too, as these Go90 Whistle Sports World Tour episodes have seen him freestyling on a Brazilian shipwreck, dune-buggy freestyling, and trying explosive longboarding. It will be interesting to see what they come up with next.
