The sports world buzzed on Tuesday after LIV Golf and the PGA Tour announced a partnership. The announcement of the union between the golf tours created a significant reaction from everyone involved. Some of it was shock and disgust, especially from 9/11 families. Golfers have also reacted to the news, and superstar Brooks Koepka was among them. Koepka hopped on Twitter and appeared to take a shot at NBC Sports and Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee. “Welfare Check on Chamblee,” Koepka tweeted.

Chamblee has been one of the strongest opponents of LIV Golf. The NBC Sports personality has been outspoken about his past disdain for the golf tour. So, now that the two tours merged, it’s led to a strange bedfellows situation.
But it doesn’t sound like Chamblee was very thrilled about the move either. In fact, Chamblee considered this “one of the saddest days in the history of professional golf.”

Chamblee said he was “hugely disappointed” in the decision to merge LIV Golf and the PGA Tour.
Brooks Koepka and other LIV Golf tour members are probably licking their chops today. After much has been said, the decision resonates poorly on the PGA Tour side, especially with how Jay Monahan played it in public, involving the 9/11 families, among other decisions. Nonetheless, this partnership between LIV and the PGA Tour will likely profoundly affect the game.
