Brooks Koepka

Brooks Koepka and his wife, Jena, welcomed baby boy Crew into the world on July 27th. It wasn’t without complications, however.

Jena shared baby Crew arrived six weeks earlier than his due date via C-section.

“Crew Sims Koepka was ready for the world because he decided to break my water just 2 minutes after Brooks walked inside the house from the gym on Thursday, July 27th at 5:50 pm. 6 weeks ahead of my due date,” Sims shared on her Instagram story. “Already showing who’s boss.”

Since then, Koepka has been not only viewing his life differently since becoming a father, but golf itself became less important.

“It’s definitely changed it.” Koepka told reporters during LIV Golf Invitational – Jeddah. “I think the first little bit I was not interested in golf at all. Crew was fighting for his life, so golf became very irrelevant for me for a little bit.”

Crew underwent a stay in the NICU, but was, “meeting tiny milestones every day,” during the process.

Crew appears to be doing much better and actually went home with his new parents 20 days later.

“Now that he’s doing well, I’m able to focus a little better, and it’s definitely driven me a little bit to be more dedicated,” Koepka said. “I just want to show — I know he can’t see it right now, but show him exactly what hard work, dedication, practice — if you do what you’re supposed to do, it eventually will work out for you if you put all the effort in.”
