All signs point to star Australian golfer Cameron Smith leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf after fellow Aussie Cameron Percy suggested that Smith would be joining the Saudi-backed league. But the 2022 British Open champion isn’t quite ready to confirm those rumors – or deny them, for that matter.

During his PGA Tour press conference ahead of the FedEx Cup Playoffs in Memphis, Smith was grilled about the rumors, but he certainly didn’t reveal much.

“My goal here is to win the FedEx Cup playoffs. That’s all I’m here for,” Smith said according to Dubbs Anderson. “If there’s something I need to say regarding the PGA tour or LIV, it will come from Cameron Smith, not Cameron Percy. I’m a man of my word, and whenever you guys need to know anything, it’ll be said by me.”

Smith was asked once again about a report from The Telegraph that he had signed a deal worth more than $100 million to join LIV Golf. Once again, Smith was pretty vague, saying he had “no comment.”

“I have no comment to that,” Smith responded. “Like I said, I’m here to play the FedEx Cup playoffs. That’s been my focus for the last week and a half, that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to win the FedEx Cup playoffs. And like I said, it’ll come from me. It won’t come from Cameron Percy.”

If Smith is indeed headed to LIV, it would be one of the biggest coups yet. The Australian is currently ranked No. 2 in the PGA Tour World Golf rankings, behind only Scottie Scheffler.
