Former United States President Donald Trump is an avid golfer and he’s never been shy about hyping up his own talent on the golf course. But he’s now facing a major challenge from one of his strongest critics.

Rick Reilly is the author of a New York Times best-selling book titled “Commander-in-Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump” in which he details numerous ways that Donald Trump has been caught cheating on the golf course over the years. And now, after one of Trump’s spokespeople responded to him, Reilly is challenging Trump to a competition, and he’s willing to put a substantial amount of money on it.

“Trump spokesman on me: “Rick fantasizes about having a golf game as good as President Trump.” … Fine. I bet $100k I can beat Trump on a course he DOESN’T own w/ USGA rules officials watching. (Hey, some white-collar prisons have courses.) #CommanderInCheat,” Reilly said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, it would be pretty insane news if this golf competition actually happened between Trump and Reilly, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

We’ll have to see if Trump responds.
