TURNBERRY, SCOTLAND – JULY 25: Tom Watson of US poses with his ‘duel in the sun plaque’ on the 18th hole prior to the first round of the Senior Open Championship played over the Ailsa Course, Turnberry on July 25, 2012 in Turnberry, United Kingdom. (Photo by Phil Inglis/Getty Images)

Like everyone else involved in the world of golf, legendary golfer Tom Watson offered his two cents on the PGA’s involvement with LIV Golf.

Naturally, Watson isn’t thrilled with how things are going for the PGA Tour and isn’t thrilled with the merger, He also fears for the future of golf.

“We have people that are making decisions that are really shaping the future of PGA Tour golf,” Watson said. “Without player participation in those decisions, we’re going in the wrong direction.”

Anyone who has been following this story knows he is referring to PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan who has been called out by golfers on both tours for the way he has handled this whole situation.

Tour players wanted Monahan out as commissioner but since that hasn’t happened and doesn’t appear it will happen, they asked Tiger Woods to join the PGA board to look out for their best interest.

Watson is not the only one who feels this may be the end of the PGA Tour as we know. Golf analyst Brandel Chamblee blamed Phil Mickelson last week in an interview for the sport’s demise and Mickelson’s greediness.

As of now, the sport is in limbo and fingers are pointing in different directions as to who is to blame.
