Jon Rahm won the Masters Tournament, but Sam Bennett did well, too if the recent news indicates anything.
Bennett, an amateur golfer who competes for the Texas A&M Aggies golf team, made a torrid run at Augusta. Against all odds, he landed with a 16th-place finish at the Major championship. It was a remarkable feat and many took notice of it, which has led to a big payday for him.
Sports Business Journal wrote that Bennett signed a NIL deal with the prominent phone company, T-Mobile.

SBJ did not reveal the terms of the deal. However, they indicated that Bennett won’t rock any branding on his equipment or golf bags, but will likely appear at events and make social media posts to advertise his relationship with the phone company.
Bennett’s 16th-place finish at the Masters was higher than his finish at the 2022 U.S. Open. There, the Aggie golfer finished tied for 49th place. He won the 2022 U.S. Amateur Championship, joining a host of successful golfers like Bryson DeChambeau and three-time Amateur Champion Tiger Woods.
NIL deals across the country have helped student-athletes who would have never otherwise been able to collect that kind of money. Bennett joins them with this new, sparkly deal that could be the first in a line of them if his star grows.
