Over the past few years, golf influencer and media personality Paige Spiranac has become quite a controversial figure in the sports world as she’s amassed a massive following in part due to her willingness to show off her body on social media.
Though she is undeniably popular, Paige Spiranac also has her critics, who do not approve of the way that she has gained her popularity. But even though some may not agree with her tactics, she has been very successful in the golf world and she’s got statistics to prove it.
“‘You’re not growing the game,'” Spiranac said in a tweet, mocking people’s accusations. “In 24 hours on social media, almost 4 million people watched a video on how to grip a golf club lol I like my odds that there’s people out there who learned something new. Growing the game one [expletive]…I mean tip at a time.”
Spiranac is referring to a short video she posted last week in which she showed her followers how to properly grip a golf club.
It’s easy to see why Spiranac is controversial based on the way she leans into her attractiveness to build her following, but she’s clearly been very successful at what she does.
